FAQ* about Alex and his diary

(* meaning more than once.)

Why do you not have a comment function on your website?

Primarily because I don't particularly care what people have to say about the contents of my diary. The work and security risk involved in a web application to handle such feedback is just too great. If there's anything you want to tell me, use email. That's what it was invented for after all.

If you want to take part in a web community based around the thoughts and whims of one person, go somewhere else.

Sheesh. Why are you so concerned about security?

I have personal files, such as encryption keys and my mail stored on this host, and I would not want them made available to anyone else.

If the thousands of people running interactive weblogs do not get broken into, why would you be?

Who says they are not broken into? Maybe they have more money than I do, and can afford to place their public files and private files on completely different systems.

I heard you delete strange looking mail without bothering to read it.

Is that a question? You heard correctly.

How boring is that? Do you also stay away from interesting sites and disable all the cool features in your webbrowser?

You bet.
