Away again. See my travelplan.
Salary has been agreed upon. Awaiting contract. I will soon be a fully employed bum! I have temporary accomodation lined up and will be looking at a house soon, too.
Away. See my travelplan.
The job hunt is over. I am no longer an unemployed bum. I will be moving 450 km south in the near future. She will follow.
Novembers Doom is underrated. You should make a pont (or a point -- that typo was so interesting I just had to leave it in) to try Dark Fields for Brilliance, Silent Tomorrow and Not The Strong on for size.
Why Women Shouldn't Drink Too Much Beer.
As per my travelplan, I will be unavailable most of this weekend.
Most Microsoft security advisories are completely useless: "A security vulnerability has been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a Windows-bsed computer and gain complete control over it."
That tells me what? I have to go looking for the knowledge base entry to determine if the advisory is relevant to my systems. Why is it so hard to name the vulnerability by name and possibly link to the CVE entry as well?
The interview went very well. It lasted from 10.30am to 3.30pm but only felt like an hour. Lots of challenges, sound people and a cosy environment. I will know more next week.
Lost 2 pounds since last week. Just two days of not following the diet completely really shows up on the end result. By next week I should be back to losing 4 or 5 pounds again.
I have been listening to Morcheeba lately. They are not Pink Floyd nor The Cure nor Tori Amos but they are still very good.
If you need someone trustworthy to remove the SIM lock on your GSM phone I can now recommend talking to simlock.dk. He removed the SIM lock on the Nokia 3310 I bought in Ireland when Digifone would have absolutely nothing to do with the matter.
Then I went a bought a new SIM card from CBB Mobil, the cheapest and most simple-to-use GSM network provider you never heard of.
I am convinced that listening to David Byrne will make you insane.
Remember that interesting job I applied for recently? "We would like to see you for a 4 hour interview on Thursday 13th."
4 hours. Should be interesting. I wonder if I am allowed to bring my own camel to the meeting -- or any other kind of water container, for that matter.
Lost 2.6kg (5 pounds) since last Thursday.
I would just love a big.. fat.. full Irish breakfast just about now. Filthy! I love it. I miss it.
This diet I am on is insane. I am required to eat at least 300g of vegetables with lunch and dinner. This increases metabolism and fills you up and it is the reason I lost 4 pounds in a week. At first, I found a 300g salad sidedish to be a bit much, but now it is not enough.
Right now, I could eat a hippo. No need to kill it for me. Just point me in the right direction.
<ecksor> I was reading a story in 'new scientist' last week about a
professor at some university who was in the jungle looking for rare or
unknown forms of plant life.
<ecksor> he had a monkey with him that he had trained to recover
interesting specimens from hard to reach places for him.
<ecksor> He came to a overhang, where there was an especially
interesting flower hanging from a vine about 10 feet down, so he
instructed the monkey to climb down and get it.
<ecksor> the monkey looked at him with a confused look on his face,
turning his head to one side, before proceeding to pull the vine up
hand over hand until the flower had been pulled up to the top.
<ecksor> The professor said that no human had ever made him feel so
stupid.
